MIDDLE SCHOOL GOALS PROGRAMS

GOALS expeditions are available to participants ranging in age from 4th grade through adult.  By differentiating the objectives of our programs for specific age groups, we maximize the effectiveness and impact of each child’s experience.

Our middle school expeditions are designed specifically for children in grades 6-9.  Adolescents in this age group are inherently curious about the world around them, and thus our middle school GOALS leaders use the extraordinary resources provided by the canyon to deliver powerful academic lessons at a greater depth than is possible in the traditional classroom.  The middle school GOALS curriculum connects kids to the planet - illustrating the cause and effect of management decisions on our environment, and emphasizing the importance of conserving the wild places that remain.  Middle school students are introduced to the 4-step GOALS growth process of searching, navigating, reflecting, and believing - and begin to explore our powerful growth guide to foster confidence and interpersonal awareness.  These expeditions are generally 4-6 days in length, and explore rivers with whitewater up to Class III+.
